MolnLycke Mepitel Film

Bring home hospital quality advanced wound care. Mepitel® Film is an ultra thin, flexible and breathable soft silicone film product. It features a special Safetac® soft silicone contact layer to provide less pain upon removal. The product does not leave residues and the adhesion level does not increase over time. Mepitel® Film is a shower proof protective layer. Mepitel® Film is designed for a wide range of superficial wounds such as pressure ulcers, superficial burns, superficial skin injuries, cuts and scrapes. Mepitel® Film protects fragile and sensitive skin. It can also be used to fixate dressings.

Precautions - do not use if you have known sensitivity to the product or its material content. Do not use as primary fixation for IV, cannulas and ports or other infusion and or life sustaining devices. If you see signs of infection, e.g. the wound/skin becoming red, warm or swollen, consult your health care professional nurse or doctor. Mepitel® film is not a wound contact layer product and does not allow wound exudate to pass through the dressing to a secondary layer. If more than one product is used and they are overlapped, the breathability goes down; this can lead to excess moisture not being allowed to pass away from the skin. Mepitel® Film is a single use product. Never reuse! Do not use if inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Mepitel® Film may be left in place for several days depending on the condition of the skin/wound and the surrounding skin, and as long as the adherent properties are sufficient. If the product is used after expiry date product properties cannot be ensured. Store in a dry area. Do not refrigerate. Mepitel® and Safetac® are registered trademarks of Molnlycke® Health Care AB.
